I've painted The Loch many times as it's my favorite hike in Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado). After you hike several fairly steep miles you will be rewarded with scenery that doesn't compare. Although there weren't any aspens at this elevation the underbrush reds and oranges glowed against the purple alpine mountains. This painting sold before it was ever shown in public.
About Mary Giacomini
I love the outdoors, hiking and finding peaceful places. My artwork is inspired by places I've been to and would like to return. I enjoy getting "lost" when creating my art and recreating a scene I'd rather be in. I've been a professional artist for over 25 years but have been an artist my entire life. I've always loved to create. I earned a BFA in studio arts, have taken numerous classes & workshops over the years and have a wonderful support system of artist friends. Since I live in Colorado, many of my paintings reflect this area. I enjoy working in oil, pastel and watercolor.
