Artist's Description
I found this little oasis at the Devil's Backbone Trail just outside of Loveland, Colorado. There isn't much shade at this park but there is a cluster of old Cottonwoods in a low area where trees are thriving. I set up my pochade box next to a little burbling stream on the side of the trail and got to listen to running water while I captured the bring greens of Springtime.
About Mary Giacomini
I love the outdoors, hiking and finding peaceful places. My artwork is inspired by places I've been to and would like to return. I enjoy getting "lost" when creating my art and recreating a scene I'd rather be in. I've been a professional artist for over 25 years but have been an artist my entire life. I've always loved to create. I earned a BFA in studio arts, have taken numerous classes & workshops over the years and have a wonderful support system of artist friends. Since I live in Colorado, many of my paintings reflect this area. I enjoy working in oil, pastel and watercolor.
